When you search on Google, it orders results by what it believes to be the most useful and relevant. A website’s rank has become a common barometer for how high-quality or trustworthy a company is.

It’s no wonder people get taken in like this, but since we have no trust infrastructure and no way of connecting people to it via the user interface even if we did, it’s hard to see how things will improve.
